PODS & Displays Showcase

The Rosewood Group was contacted by a multinational corporation with a request to manufacture pods and displays for the purpose of showcasing a new design of bathroom suites.

The project involved implementing the displays in stores across the UK and Ireland. Following an extended consultation with the client and the production of project plans and drawings, various ways of implementing the project were discussed. The project manager made a series of site visits for the purpose of measuring up and assessing the best ways to display the product.

Once everything was signed off, manufacturing of the pods began; the sheer number of pods that needed to be made meant we were working almost like a production line! Jobs had to be divided among us, while one team manufactured the pods, another produced the MDF and laminate flooring, individual teams were assigned to making the pottery and to the painting, and finally a team was assigned to installing the pods – all the work was undertaken in our own workshops. We had a dedicated dispatch team on hand, loading the pods onto articulated vehicles for delivery throughout the UK and Ireland.

The sheer build quantity involved in this project was immense as everything was delivered within a week. Our process of integrated team work and ability to work under extreme pressure enabled this project to come to successful fruition. Ongoing communication with store managers and key members of staff, along with detailed logistical planning ensured that deliveries were made on time and anticipated by the various stores. The volume of work that needed to be produced within the time frame was problematic, but achievable, in order to accommodate the number of bathroom suites we had to reorganise our workshops to maximise the available space. Maximising the available space made it possible to organise a production line work schedule.

Feedback from the client was extremely good, they were delighted with the way we handled the project, appreciative of our transparency and ongoing communication, and thrilled that we had managed to deliver such a large project within the agreed timescale The client also reported that sales of takeaway pottery had increased, largely because of strategic placing of the pods by the checkouts so that customers spotted displays before they left the store.
